Episode 75: The Poetic Powerhouse – Maya Angelou

Happy April!  Let’s dive right in because we have some incredible stories this week.  Amy tells a story about a community in Detroit that is bringing back its neighborhood on their own using the power of the sun and the strength of its women!  You won’t believe how much you don’t know about the incredible Maya Angelou.  This lady could do it all and do it with style.  It’s an amazing story.  Then Teresa tells the story of an Oregon librarian who has traveled the world following her love of education and books and is empowering marginalized communities with books.  This is a fantastic episode.  Put in your earbuds, go for a walk, and let the inspiration fill you.

    Hi Amy and Teresa,

I love Maya Angelou. I teach English lessons at a secondary school in Manchester, and we spend two weeks on Ms. Angelou each year. I particularly love “A Brave and Startling Truth.” Despite how much time I have spent with Ms. Angelou’s poetry, there was a lot I did not know about this amazing woman. Thank you for such a delightful run through her life and history. I enjoy Tangential Inspiration very much!

    Cheers,
    Anthony
