Bridgetown Sack Lunches

On May 30, 2021, Teresa and I are getting together to assemble some sack lunches for the homeless. Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon, gathers sack lunches assembled by volunteers and distributes them to the less fortunate through Because People Matter to local soup kitchens and shelters in the Portland area. These lunches make a big difference in the community and Bridgetown relies on volunteers to help provide the food and package it for distribution.

Each lunch should include the following in a gallon ziplock bag:

  • 1 peanut butter and jelly sandwich
  • A granola bar
  • A bag of chips
  • A bottle of water
  • A piece of fruit (apple, banana, orange)
  • A string cheese or cheese stick or store-bought bagged cookies

These lunches are assembled and can be dropped off at Bridgetown Church every Sunday from 3-3:30 p.m in the back parking lot of NE Tillamook. The address for the church is 2120 NE Tillamook St, Portland, Oregon.

We would love any donations of these ingredients- like peanut butter, jelly, bags, granola bars, etc. Also, if anybody in our area wants to join us to help assemble lunches, reach out to us at tangentialinspiration@gmail.com and we will figure out how to hook up and get this worthwhile work done.
